Linda is a recent transplant to San Diego, and is building a dynamic local music studio. Born and raised in the Nashville, TN area, Linda has always been surrounded my music and the music industry. At home in many different musical styles, she has performed as soloist and in ensemble in musicals, operas, choirs, and contemporary bands, and plays the piano and guitar. She earned a Bachelors in Music from Belmont University, and then went on to earn a Masters in Education from Vanderbilt University. In addition to being a private vocal and piano coach for almost ten years, she is also a local choir director and class piano/guitar instructor. She frequently visits Nashville and enjoys friendships with a variety of directors and studio musicians, in addition to new contacts with the music and musical theater community in San Diego and Los Angeles.
Her hobbies include song writing collaboration, gardening, swing dancing, and traveling. Some of her recent visits include Ireland, Hong Kong, South Korea, China, New Zealand, and Australia, which included taking in some traditional Irish house-party music, a Chinese opera and "changing faces" performance, and a concert at the Sydney Opera House. Linda is also fluent in Spanish and lived in Madrid, Spain where her musical highlights included performing Spanish comedic opera (Zarzuela) in La Plaza Mayor with the Madrid symphony.
Professional memberships include the American Choral Directors Association, the Music Educators National Conference, and the California Music Educators Association. Linda is also an alumnae member of Sigma Alpha Iota music fraternity, as well as a Ruby Sword of Honor recipient. She was honored as Most Outstanding Music Major while at Belmont University, and worked as an educational research assistant at Vanderbilt. Linda is passionate about serving her students by staying up-to-date and learning continually. She resides in San Diego with her loving husband.
